Dunbar coach Eddie Oakley started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Rod Lyvers, 6-3 Sr. David Byars, 6-6 Jr. Ken Fox, 6-0 So. Marcus Conner, and 6-3 Sr. Clay Tate. Lafayette coach Don Adkins countered with 6-3 Sr. Robert Madison, 6-6 Sr. Dudley Hall, 6-7 Sr. Vernard Hazard, 6-0 Sr. Quinton Roberts, and 5-9 Sr. James Gentry.
Lafayette was playing their fifth game in seven days but they hardly
looked tired as they utilized their pressure defense and run-and-gun offense
to defeat Dunbar 84-72. Lafayette was led tonight by Quinton Roberts
with 19 points. Robert Madison and 5-11 Jr. Brandon Riley
added 17 and 15 points respectively. Dunbar was paced tonight by
David
Byars with 20 points and 9 rebounds.
