Bryan Station coach Bobby Washington started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Josh Brockman, 6-4 Sr. Waltclaire Flynn, 6-6 Sr. Terren Harbut, 5-8 Sr. Scott Ferguson, and 6-0 Sr. Brian Capenter. Lafayette coach Don Adkins countered with 6-0 Sr. Jeff Floyd, 6-3 Sr. Robert Madison, 6-7 Sr. Vernard Hazard, 5-9 Sr. James Gentry, and 6-0 Sr. Quinton Roberts.
Bryan Station won a wild one at the home of the Lafayette Generals by a score of 67-66. Lafayette raced out to a 15-7 first quarter lead. Terren Harbut got on track in the second quarter scoring 15 points to pull Bryan Station within 1, 32-31 at the half. Bryan Station actually led 59-46 in the final period before Lafayette went on a 17-1 run to take a 63-60 lead midway through the final period. The Defenders outscored Lafayette 7-3 over the final minutes to take a hard earned win.
The victors were led tonight by their all-state candidate Terren Harbut who had 27 points and 13 rebounds. Waltclaire Flynn, a 6-4 Sr. transfer from Paul Dunbar, added 11 points and 11 rebounds. 5-10 Fr. William Mays added 13 points and 5-8 8th grader Martiese Morones added 6 points. Lafayette was led tonight by 5-9 Sr. James Gentry with 19 points. 6-7 Sr. Vernard Hazard added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
